I have been notified that I am going to be starting a position with a client that is involved in the manufacturing business. The client would like to use AI to help it identify (and prevent!) defects on the assembly line. It is kind of ironic that I am back to machine learning as I first started my journey into AI four years ago in this very area. In the last year I have been focusing mostly on language models and chatbots (speaking broadly), so I wanted to get a refresher in this space. They say that if you enjoy what you do then you’ll never work a day in your life. Well, here I am.
I did get a bit of a laugh when the syllabus said that we will be making a movie recommendation model. I made one of these last year but never showed it here.
